Disclaimer: Pondscroll was built using Claude Code.
Coming soon, just waiting on some Apple stuff…
What is Pondscroll?
A minimalist RSS Reader App for the Apple Eco System that contains only the features I personally want or need in a RSS Reader with a focus on Privacy and a few select features that I find improve my reading experience.
This App is primarily for me but since i have to pay the Apple tax to get it on my devices in a convenient way I figured I’d release it for free, maybe there is someone else out there as picky as I am.
Why Pondscroll?
I’m an RSS enthusiast and have been using it for decades. Over time I’ve moved between Apps and back ends as things have become obsolete or something new did the job better. My current iteration is a FreshRSS back end and, up until vibe coding became a thing, I used the very excellent Reeder Classic App by Silvio Rizzi.
I say recently because Silvio has moved on to Reeder which adds a ton of new features that I don’t personally need and charges a monthly fee for the basic ones I do. They continue to offer Reeder Classic in maintenance mode but I’ve run into a bug since iOS 26 with my iPad that makes using Reeder Classic annoying. I have submitted multiple bug reports but totally get it, Reeder Classic is not under active development anymore and so the idea of making Pondscroll was born.
